Who I am
I’m a Full Professor of Sociology and Anthropology at Trinity University, a liberal arts college in San Antonio, Texas.
I got my PhD at University of Michigan in Sociology in 2006. I’m a proud alumni of Amherst College.
I’m a first generation college student, born and raised in the desert cities and mountains of Southern California. As a child, I dreamed of being a teacher and a writer, and I’m pleased that I’ve become both those things.
At work, I study and advocate for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer (LGBTQ+) rights and belonging.
I identify as queer and non-binary. I prefer the pronouns they/their/theirs.
